This past week I was able to
help chaperone a group of around
40 teenagers at Summer in the Son.
I never imagined how fulfilled I would
be from the experience. Six of the
teens gave me the best birthday present
anyone could ask for...they were baptized
on Thursday, in a water trough, at the foot
of a cross...AMEN! Prayer goes out to
Allison Jefferson, Mark Sticklen,
Will Smithers, Sam Linton,
Sammy Schaber and Ryan May as they
begin this journey in Christ's family.
Sunday morning, the Spirit was
overflowing from these teens. We started
off the day with three more baptisms.
Christina Townsend and Alex Braun waited
to get home from Summer in the Son to
be baptized. Mollie Teegarden, who
had been at Camp Northward for the week,
also made the decision to give her life
to Christ. It was truly an amazing morning!
Diane and Karin Poe performed a skit
that helped us all think about how we can share
our faith even as teachers or students.
This went right along with Ron's sermon without
him even knowing beforehand! He preached
on Col 4:2-6 and how we can use our voice
for Christ. Three ways we can use our voice
are by praying, proclaiming, and policing.
We should pray by praising God, confessing to Him,
thanking Him and then asking for other's needs
and our own needs. We should also proclaim
our faith. We should not look at talking
about Christ as pushing our belief on others,
but that we are saving their lives! And we
need to police our own words. Speak the truth
in love and speak words of grace, not gossip,
lies, or words that hurt.
This week we have more kids at Camp
Northward. We pray that they continue to
draw closer to God and each other.

Our God's Field Hand challenge of the week
is to write something nice about your waiter
on the back of the bill and pray for them.

hope you'll find a church somewhere
next Sunday morning.
